Parent Survey Results

Thanks to those of you who filled out our parent survey at the end of last year. We love hearing from you and want you to know that we’re listening. Here are some highlights, projects for us, and how we’re working to address some questions:

  1. More Field Trips? – We’re planning on funding this through our “Fund-a-Need” at our Fall Auction. More details to come!
  2. Can You Offer Running Start? – Running Start is a Public School program, but we offer UW courses and dual enrollment options for our students starting their sophomore year in high school.
  3. Discovery Days and Wintermission! – These opportunities in Secondary bring a revitalized energy to campus and allow creative learning!
  4. More opportunities to get to know other parents! – This year we offered a New Parent Orientation night, the first ever! We’re also empowering Parents in Prayer, PTF, and PSS to help them build community with parents.
  5. Biblical Balance – Balancing academics and extracurriculars with teaching and promoting Christian values. We love the integration into both the curriculum and the interactions.
  6. Athletics Communications Lacking– We’ve hired a new athletic director who comes with a business background and has taken on the role with excitement. We’ve streamlined our website for a clear calendar of upcoming practices/games and updated our Athletics webpage.
  7. Elementary Kitchen Needs Help – Thanks to an anonymous donor, we were able to complete a remodel of our elementary kitchen over the summer!
  8. What is FIT? – We understand that FIT (Family Individualized Tuition) can be confusing and frustrating to go through, many of the staff are parents as well! We’re evaluating both how we communicate the process and how the system is used, to clarify what actually happens and what you need to do.
  9. SCS Teachers They see my children for who they are and encourage them in their gifts and talents while also supporting their weaknesses.  All done with grace and love!
