Learning with heart, soul, mind, and strength.
The first year that Donna's oldest son attended SCS, the theme for the school year was, Everything you do, do as unto the Lord. “In my mind,” she says, “that was a great entry into school—approaching academics with all that we have, with all of our heart, soul, body, and strength. I believe the most important thing in life is to know who God is, and who we are in relation to him. This should encompass all the decisions we make as a family, whether they be related to work, home life, school, or extracurricular activities. It also defines how we should approach learning.”
Because a student’s job is to learn and study, Donna adds, it’s important for them “to get to know as much as they can about the world that God made, the world that God put them in to live in. At Shoreline Christian, we have found ourselves partnered with educators committed to the goal of helping students discover as much as possible about our maker, his creation, and how their gifts and talents fit into the big picture of life.”
