Being a Christian, foreign language teacher, and native Spanish speaker led Roxana to apply for the job. Meeting the kids and their families encouraged her to stay.

God commands us to love one another as much as He has loved us. To communicate His love to His people, we need to learn about others and their language. Cultural understanding starts with developing sensitivity to the possibility that people vary in how they think, live, and behave.

1 Corinthians 13 describes the importance of love in all we do. "I feel so blessed when my students 'get it' and engage in the language-and-culture learning process and become God's transforming influences in a bigger world than their own! I also love being with my family, dancing, eating great food, and watching my students flourish!”
