Top Things Preschool Families Should Know About Back-to-School

Welcome to the next segment of our “Top Things for Back-to-School” series. This segment is for families of preschool students. If you’re a mom or dad of our littlest learners, read on!

1. Preschool Orientation Night

Preschool Parent Orientation is on Tuesday, August 25, at 7:00 PM. This is an important meeting during which the staff will give you a great deal of preschool information. Please reserve this date and plan on at least one parent attending. (Parents only, no children, please.) You should have received more information about this evening from Mrs. Barb Reinsma. Please contact her if you have any questions.

2. Parent Volunteer Requirement

Over the course of the school year, preschool parents are required to volunteer in the preschool for 7 or 8 mornings. You may also arrange to have friends or family members fulfill this requirement. All volunteers must have documentation of a TB skin test on file.

Your help will be required from about 8:45 AM till noon. You will be assisting in the supervision of the children, as well as taking turns providing and preparing snacks for all the children. We require parent volunteers in order to maintain low teacher-to-student ratio without increasing the cost of tuition.

3. New Staff Member

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Aimee Ray as our new co-director of preschool and childcare. Mrs. Ray will be working alongside Mrs. Reinsma to lead our preschool, childcare, and summer care programs. You can learn more about her in a blog post from earlier this summer.
